Donna's Story
Military
I went to bootcamp in Orlando, Florida and attended school there. I was then stationed in Adak, Alaska where I married. I loved Alaska, it is so beautiful. The bald eagles with 6' wing expansions, the sea otters, the gray fox and the caribou (I think I spelled that wrong). I received many awards there and was signed to go to Navy Medical Academy and onto Officers Candidates School. But I soon becam...Expand for more
e pregnant with my first child shortly after I married and all of that went away. But I wouldn't change a thing about that. Then my husband and I were transferred to Vallejo, California. I gave birth to Kayla my first and Kendra my second. I made Petty Office Third Class and took an Honorable Discharge after serving 5 years vs. staying in and being deployed. I miss the Navy and wished I would have stayed on.
