Donna's Story

I thank God for two amazing daughters. My eldest daughter, Nikki is 28 and married to a wonderful man who is a building contractor who loves the Lord. My daughter Brie is 25 and does in-home care for several clients and goes to college. I have an apartment in a large home and live with my two cats, Lilly (Persian) and Katie (Mane Coon). I have a horse, Tobi (Morgan) and take care of Tootsie (Quarter Horse) who belongs to a friend. They are boarded at a large equestrian center at the foot of Mt. Diablo. A very old ranch where the animals are very happy. One horse that was moved to a very posh show barn down the road broke away from the trainer and ran back to our barn. "Relegion" has always turned me off. God has brought me to a biblically sound church and it's wonderful. My passion for singing took me to the first choir rehearsal about four years ago. The tech team needed help, so I checked that out after rehearsal. I've been serving on the Technical Team ever since. I still get to sing, just from the back of the room. Being that I am probably one of the last people on earth one would expect to do technical things, I know it's a God thing. It's a passion and never boring. We have a large tech team of people who are all a joy to work with. When asked if I get nervous doing what I do, I say no. Knowing God has placed me in this position, He would not abandon me while serving. No matter what challenges arise, He is in charge. It's a joy serving the Lord and the many friendships are priceless. I get paid to work part-time in the church office as receptionist. It's a joy. Our five main pastors, the heads of the many ministries and all the rest of us are all growing in the Lord every day. It's fun to work with people who are genuine and have a passion for the Lord. It's priceless seeing lives change for the better. It's not about putting on a fake "church face". It's real people growing in real life.
