Donna's Story
My last year of high school I moved and had to go to Dobyns Bennett..That was a very big move in your senior year to have to make. But I made it through and started working in a nursing home as a CNA. I really enjoyed that kind of work. About a couple of years after I started working I got married and later had my first daughter Leslie. I stopped working so I could be home with her all of the time. About 4 years later I had my second daughter Stacey. I stayed home with them till the were probably through school then I decided I wanted to go back to work.It had been so long I wasnt sure what I wanted to do. the paper and then come back on days shift. By this time I was divorced and I had to work to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. I got really tired sometimes but we made it. about 10 years ago I started working at an assisted living facility as housekeeper. The head nurse heard that I experience as a CNA and the next opening that came in nursing I took it. I worked in nursing for about 7 years.In 2002 I met the man that I am married to now. His name is Bill. He has been so good to me. I stay home now. I have 2 of the most precious grandchildren there could ever be. Ive thought about going back to work several times but for now I will just stay home and be with Dylan and Alana my grand babies ever chance I get
