Donna's Story
Life
Im trying to locate people who lived in the neighborhood and attended Crestwood Elementary in the 1960s. Here are some names I remember:
Mike Adams (in my class, lived on the corner of Randolph and Crestwood)
David Adams (his older brother)
Lisa Adams (younger sister)
Robin Adams (youngest sister)
The Geissman Family, lived on the corner of Stratford and Lansing. One of the kids lost a toe to the lawnmower one summer.
Bruce Pryor (family was in politics, he brought a voting machine to class once)
Debbie Campbell (not sure about the last name, her father was the TV weatherman or sportscaster or something like that)
Ann Tharp (Lived on Randolph, was one year younger.)
Dorinda House (lived next door to Ann)
Ruby Allen (our 6th grade teacher, lived on Randolph across the street from the Tharps)
LaDonna ? (tall, with long dark hair)
Roxanne ? (LaDonna's best friend, and about a head shorter)
Sharon ? (Only child, always had short, grownup haircuts and dressed older than the rest of us....Expand for more
)
Kim Chenault (She had dark hair and freckles, very cute and funny.)
Kim ? (her mother was a fashion model, they lived in the highrise condos, she had a younger sister whose name I can't remember)
Angela ? (Overweight girl who was always made fun of and had few friend. We all owe her an apology, and I would really like to find her.)
Tamera Coldwell (taught me the words to More: "More than the greatest love the world has known ..." and the song still makes me think of her every time I hear it)
Chris ? (cute, freckle faced boy who delivered our newspaper and was my first ever boyfriend)
Tommy ? (Preacher's kid.)
Warren ? (Cute, sandy-haired boy.)
Family of three siblings I used to babysit were John, Gregg and Beth.
I was Donna Lambert and I lived on Stratford with my mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Earl Scurlock. I was skinny, gangly, awkward, shy, self-conscious, wore glasses and my mother made me wear really long homemade dresses that were all from the same sewing pattern. Sound familiar?
