Donna's Story
After graduation I got married and went to work full time. Three and a half years into the marriage I had my eldest son Bob who is now going to be 31. Not to long after that we ended up getting divorced and in 1981 I got married to John McCafferty. John was in the Navy and we moved to Virginia for about a year, then to San Francisco. In 1984 we welcomed the birth of our son Ian who recently turned 24. In 1985 John was killed in a car accident on Randall Road. gement and working on a Masters in Education. I have spent 23 years working in education most recently as a community college administrator for Triton College in River Grove, IL. I decided to change careers and I am now the lead Grant Writer for a not-for-profit organization that assists newly returned homeless, displaced and/or disabled veterans within our community. I love what I do and feel like I am able to give something back to those brave men and women who fought so hard so we could continue to keep our freedom.
