Donna's Story
Life
My Spouse
Clark and I met while teaching at the same school, Front of Yonge School in Mallorytown. We have been together for 33 years, happily married for 31. We are both retired from the teaching profession and we are enjoying some travel time. Clark is a great person to know and a terrific father to our 2 sons. Fortunately?? or unfortunately?? they have both inherited their father's quick wit and humour...never a dull moment in this household!!
My Pets
We have had various and assorted pets over the years, and we have come to the conclusion that cats are definitely part of our family culture. Abby is the Queen in this house and Benji, our male teenage cat is new to the family. Both are spoiled beyond belief!
My Kids
Clark and I have two great kids, Ryan, born in June of 1981, and Shawn, born in August of 1985. Ryan attended Sir Sandford Fleming College, and graduated as a computer technician. He and his girlfriend, and another buddy moved to Calgary in 2005 to seek their fortunes. He is presently employed by Jacobs Engineering as an IT Support Tech.
Shawn has graduted from the University...Expand for more
of Waterloo with an Honours BSc in Earth Sciences with a specialization in Geophysics, and has worked in the diamond industry up north during his co-op work terms. He is presently employed by Peregrine Diamonds and works on Baffin Island, but calls Ottawa home when he is off for his 2 weeks of down time. He is our social butterfly and "jock". While attending school at GSS, he was involved with as many school sports as he could fit into his agenda, as well as playing rep hockey and soccer for Gananoque. Both are extremely talented in drawing and the fine arts, but much to my disappointment have not continued to explore that field. We live on Charleston Lake and the boys enjoyed swimming, boating and fishing. In the summer, Clark fishes at least 5-6 times per week.
My Job
After attending Ottawa Teachers' College, I began my career at Front of Yonge School in Mallorytown. I transferred to Sweet's Corners School in Lyndhurst. I retired in 2003 and I am just loving every minute of it. I am catching up on my many hobbies and interests. Clark retired in 2006, and we are enjoying some travelling time.
