Donna's Story
Let's see, who am I... I got married in 1976, graduated high school in '77 moved back to CA in 78. I had my first child, James in '81. I became the director for Mission Friends ( a class in the Baptist church for children under age 6) and the nursery director for children age 0 to 4. I started college in 83 I had Kristen in 84 and got my early childhood ed certificate. Then in 87 I gave birth to Erika...in '89 we moved back to TN I finally finished college in 1997. I was on my 5th year of teaching ...about to get tenure, was lead Science teacher in the school and rep for the National Science Dept of Ed. when I was injured. That is why my brain doesn't function as well as it should so my writing is not good and if I say something "off" I am sorry I mean nothing by it. attempted murder. I have worked through wheelchairs, walkers, canes and am now able to walk on my own...usually. I have had 2 strokes, am now epileptic, have trouble reading and writing and other stuff is bad all bc of the brain injury. I take 18 pill a day ...down from 32 in 2001. I used to take 5 types of theropy, now only 2. Lately I dated a guy for 3 1/2 years and finally married in Sept of last year. He takes good care of me and has been known to take off work to care for me...Steve is great. I still love to do crafts and especially sew. That is how I spend a lot of my time since I am not able to work anymore. I have 6 grandchildren and take care of them sometimes...I can only handle about 2 at a time now where before I had a class full. By the end of the day I am exhausted. That is who I am now...
