Donna's Story
Life:
It's been a long journey. After graduating from SFU in1976. I worked for 2 years and then moved to Victoria and lived there for 2 years while working on my M.P.A. degree. Then I moved back to Vancouver, got a job with the G.V.R.D., where I worked until 1985. During that time I went on a Windjammer Cruise. where I met Jim. He lived ind the San Francisco Bay area, and I moved there after we were married in 1985.
We moved to Portland, OR. in 1990 and had a son in 1991 and a daughter in 1994. They are, of course, wonderful kids. We love to travel, and have been Eastern and Western Europe, Egypt, Australia (the best!), Russia, and of course, several places in Canada. I'd love to got to Newfoundland but the rest of the family isn't keen on the idea . We may go to England this summer.

ed I had advanced breast cancer, so that has been a major part of our lives and still is. There are many new treatments, and new ones in research, so cancer is no longer a death sentence. Life is good in Oregon, with much less rain than in Vancouver, but I miss Canada.
My father passed away in 2005, , but my mother is still alive and well, living in Burnaby.
Updated January 2009:
Hello all, this is Donna's husband Jim. Sadly, Donna passed away last December 15, due to complications from her breast cancer. Those of you that knew her would not be surprised to know that she fought bravely all the way, and her medical team said that if anybody could beat this, it was Donna. However, that was not to be. Please keep her in your thoughts, and remember her fondly at you future reunions and gatherings. Thank you.
