Donna's Story
Life
Life was OK until last Nov., 2002 when my older son died. He was alcoholic and died while hoping to get a liver transplant. My husband and I were with him at UCLA Medical Center for two months before he died. Losing a child IS the worst thing that can happen.
I'm grateful for two wonderful grandchildren-from my younger son.
In January,2009, my husband died. Life has been really hard since then,a but I'm a survivor and an optimist!!
In March 2013 I met Ron Waters; we have been together ever since!! Life is better than it has ever been; I am blessed!!
My grandchildren are now 12 and 15 and of course are just wonderful: Intelligent, attractive, musical, artistic, just the best!!!!!
School
Gene Olson was the teacher who inspired me more than I realized at the time. Because of him I am a better person and a better teacher. He...Expand for more
was the best ever!
Best memories of high school included going with Gene Fessenbecker. It was going to last forever; however, it didn't!!
College
I got my BS at UW-Whitewater in '65. Later I did graduate work at the University of Toledo. Then I finally got my masters from Mankato State in '92. I never really liked school; I much preferred the social life!
Teaching
I taught elem. ed. in WI for two years.
I took ten years off to be a mom for my two sons. Went to graduate school at U. of Toledo, moved to MN and started teaching Special Education. Got my masters at Mankato in EBD. I taught for twenty years and then retired.
Travel-2010
I finally took off for a trip by myself. In Feb. I drove to Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, Santa Fe to see friends and family. I had a great time, but I'm glad to be home. I drove 4500 miles!!
