Donna's Story
Life:
Well, I have spent 27 years teaching high school and college mathematics. During this time, I finished my masters degree, I was married, divorced, and have had many wonderful pets. What was that crash??? Oh, just the dog turning over the kitchen trash can!!! :) Looking forward to retirement so I can spend some time getting my home and yard back in order. Hope to devote my time to animals (the four legged kind, not the ones in my classroom!! ha ha ). Also hope to travel some, and do some stuff I've never done before....
UPDATE 2009: HAPPILY RETIRED FROM TEACHING!! Adjusting to "not being a teacher" anymore after 30 years in education.
UPDATE MAY 31, 2011: Mom fell in Dec.'09. Broken hip (more complicated than this sounds), no surgery. Also diagnosed with mild dementia and some form of Parkinson's. Adjusting to her being in a nursing home has been very hard. She is doing well, considering... a lot better than I would be doing in her condition. She puts it in His hands. Thanks to Frankie for some support over the last year. My ex (whom I was still seeing) sure hasn't been around for me... he fled the scene last September, though he was distant as early as June.... s house trying to talk to him. Guess I'm still hurt by his actions and needed to vent..... Oh and BTW, my name on the profile should end in "h"... Gutliph.... Gutlip sounds a bit weird :(. My "LIFE" has pretty much been on hold worrying about Mom and trying to visit her 5 to 7 days a week, dealing with the nursing home people, and the doctor or hospital trips, etc. I had to move all her belongings from her apartment, close out her bills, etc. I also have a cat who was diagnosed with cancer of the gland that produces ear wax... so I like to spend as much time with him as possible too.... he had surgery back in Jan'11. He is doing well right now. But the surgery did no get all the cancer cells... it did improve his scratching and drainage- though he has recently started scratching his ear again. Enough for now...
UPDATE JAN 2013: My cat with ear cancer past away in June2012. Mom has had 2 trips to the hospital since then, but is ok-- she's 87! One of mt 2 cats was diagnosed with IBD - inflammatory bowel disease--has been on a special diet to help with symptoms. Me? No real news....just have my 2 cats (both are 15 years old) and a dog ( she turns 10 in Feb. ), and my mom. Been .doing a littlte crowd sourcing work on line for fun,
