Donna's Story
Life
I have had two children. Amanda Brooke Lathrop is the first child of Jerry Lathrop, of whom I married in 1981. She is going on 27 years old (October 2009) Jerry as many of you know, went to Willard High School also, and was a year ahead of me. My second child is Donald Benjamin Coker, he is going on 19 years old (August 2009) he graduates from Republic High in May 2009. He lives with his father. I have a dog, he is a white chihuahua with tan blotches! His name is Romeo(I didn't name him, he came to me that way!) LOL! He is AKC registered. I am currently single and living in Republic, MO. My sisters that many of you knew in school are Loralie (Johnson) Wilson, she graduated from Ash Grove High School, but did attend Willard High about a year. Pat (Johnson) Long, she married Steve Long who went to high school with us also. Gaylene(Johnson) Wormington, 2 years older than me, she lives in Texas now. Brenda Shelton was 2 years under me, and was married to Glen Goodwin, and she is back in Willard for now. And David Shelton, who is 9 years under me. All of us are still living in or around Springfield, MO except Gaylene.(Noted earlier) I would love to meet up with everyone we went to school with ag...Expand for more
ain, but I would most want to see "Mom" Wilkins. She brought a lot of us through hard years growing up, and inspired all of us to become the best we could be and recognize our good abilities rather than the bad ones. She probably was my BEST teacher ever, because she instilled confidence, honesty, self esteem, and all the other qualities that we were going to need later on in life. My one do over would be to treat my mother with more respect for the things she tried to teach me. I see through what my children put me through growing up, that she wasn't as wrong as I thought she was when I was growing up! I see now how she felt when she was trying to teach me something and I didn't want to listen to her. I always know she was trying to show me and I realize that she was trying to shield me from things that hurt me because she loved me so much! UPDATE: just passed Willard's( my) 40th anniversary and went to the reunion. I got my wish, I got to see "MOM" Wilkins. Everyone seemed to have changed! LOL. I now have two grandchildren. Amanda had a girl, her name is Arielle and Donnie, my son has 3 yo named Donnie (Donald on certificate lol) I find that I hear outta my mouth things my mother said for me!
