Donna's Story

Edit here....August 2012.....Wow, been awhile since I made an edit-addon here. Life has kept me active and that's a good thing. Still cancer free (thank you God), still working on my house. Some day it may all be done, lol. Just being single, things move slowly. They say good things take a long time to acquire or get to and must be they are right....look how long it's taken for us to get where we are!! I have learned to have lots of patience over the years. I don't get upset or excited over too many things nowdays. I think about things and whether they really matter, whether I can or should try to change them, whether what I do will help or hurt others and go from their to make my decisions. I still love my famaily, love life and wakw up ready for whatever life brings me each day, good or bad, I'll get thru it all with Gods help. You all enjoy the remainder of summer, hopefully you aren't suffering from the drought. Hopefully winter will be easy for all of us. Till I come back again, hugs and love. Feb.2009 WELL, Here I am answering a question from the story wizard....... The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Jimmy (James)Garrison, because he would know why.... .........Look out spring!! I am so ready for warm weather and sunshine. I am now cancer free for 4 years, feeling better everyday. So eager to get back to the house project. Have to finish the renovation in the old part and finish the new addition, but I can see the end. It has been a labor of love, fun and laughter! My beautiful grandchildren have been keeping me busy this winter what with "helping Gramma" with the new house. They are giving me major input on redecorating the large open upstairs, which will be their room when they are here. My life has been all about my family and still is. They are what brings joy in our older(?) age. They keep me young at heart and I wouldn't have it any other way.....Exciting news is I have found 2 old friends that I have searched for before!! One was best friend in school and the other was great friend from our childrens early school days. I have been having so much fun doing the catch up chats with them. Soon, real soon I will be getting together with them, I can hardly contain my eagerness. As you know, there are some people who make such an impact in your life that you can't forget them....well these are 2 of my important people. Ok, I hope winter has been kind to all of you and that with the sunshine and warm eather you all have a super year. Later..... Life Dec.2007, Time to update my bio?? As you can see, I am still kickin it!! I have been cancer free for the past 3 years. I still love life even with all the ups and downs it throws at me. I am interested in finding some of my old friends from school and summer after. I am looking for Karen from Rossville, married Bill McLaughlin I think, Jerry Daniels, was living in Danville, Jim Garrison was living in Henning area. Gay Hodges was living in Wellington....any help or info would be greatly appreciated. I am back in contact with a couple of school friends an...Expand for more
d want to reunite with more, just to see how life has treated those I cared about. It has been a whirlwind life, where has it all gone???? All the kids are grown, grandkids almost are and here we are...hitting middle age----hahaha. I may be getting older but I refuse to do it graciously!! I am kicking and screaming and having as much fun as I can while I can. I love my grandkids and are they ever helping me stay young!!There are things I wanted to do once upon a time but I wouldn't exchange those for my little ones time for anything. Life has been rough at times but so very good too. I am living it! Feb. 2007, 10" of snow and still coming down, blowing like it is winter. What better time than now to update my bio. Well, my surgery in Dec.06 was postponed until Jan. 2007. It is over and I am recouping. It was a rough one but I am still here and doing so much better. The snow keeps me in and that is a good thing. I get to rest and relax. All the babies were home for Christmas and I posted new pics of all of them. They do keep my life full of hope, and laughter and love. I am eagerly awaiting warm springtime and riding weather. Hopefully I will be recovered enough to ride again. I hope so. There is such a feeling of freedom when one has the wind blowing thru her hair. It is so relaxing to be able to just cruise on down the road and see the sights. I am also looking forward to getting out and meeting new people. Now I wish to see some of my old friends and catch up on their lives. I have met up with a few online and it has been great. I wish the best, with hugs and kisses for a Valentines Day wish for each of you. Have a great year. Donna OK, It is October 2006 and I am finally updating my bio again. I am doing really good with my surgeries and have one scehduled for Dec. 5 this year. After that, there will only be one left to do. Whoopeeee. I am doing all I can to keep moving forward with life. I still look forward to each day and whatever it brings to me. I have been making alot of new friends online but miss my old school friends. I would like to chat with alot of them and see how their lives are going. If any of you know Jim Garrison, who lived in Rossville, can you tell him I am looking for him. He was a special person in my life and I would really love to chat with him again. He was one who always lifted my spirits when I was down and I have never forgotten all he did for me. I want to thank him for always being in my heart. God knows there were times when I needed a voice from the past. I am still watching my newest Granddaughter. She is now 18 months old and is a babling, dancing little beauty. That is one thing that definitely keeps me young, and I love it. I hope all who read this is well and happy and feel free to email me or look me up in my local phone book and call. I love chatting to old friends every chance I get. Love to all, Donna (Vincent) Cole-Kankakee,Il................................................................................................................
