Donna's Story

Life As I get older, I find it to be more important to reaquaint myself with old friends. We moved around a lot when I was in school and some of you might remember that I was quite shy when you knew me. I'm not so shy anymore! :) I'd love to talk to you and see how you are all doing. Write me when you get a chance. _________________________ My After-Graduation Life (in a nut shell), or How I Got From There to Here After graduation, my stepfather decided that it would be good for me to go to Portland to a business college there. So, 10 days after we graduated, he packed up all my belongings and dropped me off at a women's boarding house in downtown Portland and drove away. I was petrified. I didn't go out of my room except to go to the bathroom and go to school for the first several months. (Do you remember how shy I was?) After awhile, I met some other "lost" girls and we got together and started going crazy. We did things that I cringe to think about today....but I survived. I got married when I was 20, had my first child when I was 21, my second when I was 23, and divorced when I was 24. Typical for that time. My husband was physically and mentally abusive. Did I tell you he was in the Marines in N...Expand for more
am for awhile during our marriage? He was not the same person when he came back. After the divorce, I went crazy again! (I did some very scary and embarrassing stuff during this time.) In 1977, I met my current husband and we have been together since. They say life is an adventure. I truly believe that. But it's more important what you learn from the adventure than having the adventure itself. I've learned a lot! I have two children from my first marriage, and my husband has two by his first marriage. We have no children together. I have been blessed with four wonderful grandsons. The youngest, three years old, loves Papa, but doesn't have much to say to Gramma! (Little stinker!) :) My husband and I have five indoor cats. We didn't plan to have so many, but we couldn't say "No". >^..^< Our oldest is a Tuxedo (black and white), then there is the Himalayan Persian, the calico, and the twins--pure black. Calli has decided that with the twins coming to live with us the first of this year, she is now an "upstairs" cat. She will not go downstairs even to eat. Very spoiled! And very prissy! Well, that's a little about me. I hope you'll write and let me know how you are doing. Until then, Donna

Combined families of Annett and Cordell Grandma Cordell married Grandpa Annett and all the kids were combined.
My dad died October 31, 1954. He was shot by a drunk who mistook him for a bear. The drunk was acquitted of manslaughter because the judge said he acted with the due diligence of a normal person. BAH!
