Donna's Story

Life I am a working mother and grandmother. I have 4 children (2 daughters & 2 sons). I have 8 grandchildren (4 girls & 4 boys). I have been happily married for 20 years. I like to read, needlepoint, crochet and cooking. I would love to be able to sit down and talk to old friends and see what has gone on in their lives. I work for a family established manufacturer in East Texas and have been there for 15 years . My husband for Red River Army Depot as an ammunition and bomb handler. My youngest son is an aspiring musician and a lettered backstroke swimmer. I hope my classmates remember me with laughter and spirited. I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I usually try to unwind from a exhausting day by cooking a new recipe or reading a good book. I never really did anything real wild as my grandfather was justice of the peace in town. I was too afraid to do anything for fear he would hear about it and I would get into trouble. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have intelligence, a personality, and the ability to be able to deal with the day-to-day. The main hero in my life as all who read this should have in theirs is Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. But the flesh and blood hero that I knew or know personally is my dad. He died as a Marine in Vietnam. I have lived in Houston but moved because it just got too big for me. Then I got married and moved to Borger, Tx. I got a divorced and remarried and moved to Texarkana, Tx. This gave my husband & I a chance to make a brand new life and even though it has been rough going at times, I have no complaints. rom my past who I'd most like to see again is Marsha Phillips, because we had some pretty good secrets. I have a puppy who keeps me active. My youngest son who gives me reasons to be a "sports mom". I never thought I would ever find the happiness and security in this life time. But I have. I never thought I would ever go back to college and finish my education. But I am. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the whole house and add on a swimming pool. My dream home would be a log home. My oldest boy was on deaths door when he was 17 yrs old, but he pulled through. He does not ever give up in anything that he pursues. My youngest has very inspiring dreams and skills and one day I do believe everyone is going to know who he is. All my teachers were pretty great in their own way. They each gave me lessons to take with me into the future. I have had 6 poems published. I have been approached to write my autobiography but that is quite boring to me. If I won $100 million, I'd give each of my kids $1 million of it to spend as they want, then spend the rest on me, my husband and build a swimming pool for Texas High School. To be truly happy I would be doing what I am doing right now. My current age is 56. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ready for the rocking chairs. I was so completely wrong. I am working at a family owned company as data entry. I am going back to college to get my degree in Business Administration. My first crush was a disaster. Hurt very badly, but I guess that is why it is called a "crush". My best friend would tell you I'm sweet & charming, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as snobby and stand offish.
