Dora's Story

Life Hi - I am looking forward to working on our 40th reunion. I was in the drill team and married in 1968 and divorced in 1972. After my divorce I entered the Air Force and served in such vacation spots as Glasgow, Montana, Jeddah Saudi Arabia and Isfanhan, Iran. I received both my bachelors and masters from the University of Colorado. I remarried in 1973 and had one child, daughter Tracy. I divorced ...Expand for more
again in 1991 and vowed never to remarry. However, I finally met my soul mate and married Jim Huff in 1993. I have two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. I retired from NASA in 2005 and live in Crestline where my husband and I are very involved with community and charity projects. My favorite hobby is the restoration of my 1965 Corvette - her debut will be at a car show at Lake Gregory on Aug 11.

I'm old enough to remember the Real Republicans and why I registered that way. Ronald Reagan must be whirling in his grave now to see what they have become. Go ahead and blast Hilliary and Obama you New Republicans.
I find this to be a very sad thing for a President to tweet about on one of our most solemn days of remembrance. On this of all days, why couldn't he resist making it about himself. I have a feeling that a lot of our brave
Happy Mother's Day, Mary Jane.
Update to those Dork and Petunia Wader fans. They now have two eggs.
Well, all you followers of Dork and Petunia Wader. After a long long wait, we have an EGG in the nest this morning. A pretty good sized one also. One of those would be enough for a big omelet. We will keep you informed. Sta
Swan Nest (Beta Version). Here is an update to our swan-viewing public. They appear to want this for their nest location; no other nesting sites on our lake. The poor dumb male isn't too good of a builder so Doe is helping
Doe just called all excited. Her "Landscape Quilt" won "Best of Show" at the Riverside Co. Fair.
Looks like a "white-bird supremacist" meeting outside our patio this morning. Two white swans, two Peking Ducks (but no partridge in a pear tree)

An old DeWitt picture from my collection. I'll bet Millie Berhenke remembers this place.
Dad and I in 1941. You were taken from your family far too young, dad. Thinking of you on Father's Day.
Doe and her mom.
EGG_BREAKING NEWS: Our first grandswan just broke out into the world a few minutes ago as Doe watched. He/She is a big-strapping baby. More pics as other developments happen.
For those who don't believe in vaccinations: Going through old stuff today, I found my "Baby Book." Here is a page from it. In 1943, I had the Three-day Measles; In Dec. 1944, I had the red measles (the bad ones); In Dec.
The latest pic of Petunia and her clutch of six eggs. Four weeks ETA of the little ones.
OK. Apparently Dirk and Petunia Wader are not done yet. They now have six eggs in the nest. We haven't a good picture yet, but there are six. One is right slightly below her leg. Hard to see in this picture
Update on Dirk and Petunia Wader. They now have five eggs. We will keep all of Dirk and Petunia's followers informed of any new developments.
In case any mountain folk are interested, I will be showing the Boles Murder Case Documentary this coming Sunday at the history museum at 1:00. This was the only mass murder here in the mountains; the case was never solved.
Here is the very hard puzzle we finally finished. If you look close you can see that every piece except the edge pieces are the same basic shape. We got down to 30 pieces and it still took the two of us almost 20 minutes to
In desperation, I had Doe cut my hair this morning. What do you think?
