Doreen's Story
Life
I'm 41 years old and have four wonderful kids,2 boys and 2 girls, ages 21,19,15 and 10.I've spent some time as a substitute teacher (who would've thought)and looking forward to going back when my youngest starts school.I really loved the job and I miss the kids I left behind. We've lived in Arizona,Georgia and California for a brief period. We're now living in Virginia and I'm very happy to be in one place after years of moving around different military bases. My kids are my everything.I have been blessed and there is nothing that I would not do for them.Right now I'm just working and taking care of my family. From time to time I let my hair down and party with my friends.
School
Who would've thought that I'd end up at Chelsea.I always saw myself attending the school for performing arts.In the end,I don't have any regrets or ill-will about Chelsea.I enjoyed my three years there. My biggest regret was leaving to attend another school which I hated.I hated it so much that I left. There was someone who I was truly in love with while at Chelsea and I regret not being able to tell him how I really felt until now:-(.We were together for a short time and I will always cherish those moments we spent together.
I guess the fun times were the freshman days. For some reason the freshman who entered in 1985 were never bothered.Later on I found out that we were the cool freshman. That all changed the year after though LMAO.Who can forget the christmas shows.Yours truly was in the 1985 show doing a duet with Brian. The music teacher( I forgot his name)always had an excuse about his piano playing(it was always something about his fingers LMAO).If I could do it all over again I would.I remember being quiet in school and didn't have many friends.I guess I wasn't a social butterfly.
College
In 1989 I attended ...Expand for more
Interboro Institute.I was studying to become a paralegal, but I wasn't sure of what I wanted.I was a A-B honor roll student which was in sharp contrast to my grades I would get at Chelsea.School had taken a back seat to motherhood and I have no regrets.I love my children and I devote all of my time to them and it's evident in the report cards and the awards they bring home,so I must be doing something right :-).
Workplace
I worked for NASA-Langley Child Development Center For a brief period. It was a good job but the pay was lousy lol.I'm working for Anheuser-Bush now and I'm enjoying myself,so far.I enjoy being around my co-workers and there are really good people in the company that I enjoy working around.
I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a possibility. As it turns out, they were neutral.I just didn't pursue it hard enough.I still sing.I guess it wasn't meant for me to share it with the whole world.
My best friends would tell you I'm cool, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as stuck up and jaded.I enjoy cutting up with my bff's and having a good a time.I'm just living life one day at a time and enjoying myself, even with all of the turmoil around me.You only get one life-you either go with the flow or hide under the covers.I choose to go with the flow because nothing no matter how bad will not stop me from being the person that I am and continue to be.
During my free time I love take time out for me.I love treating myself to a mani/pedi or get a treat at bath and body works.I also love to stay on my laptop catching up with friends and going out driving in my car.I also catch up with my friends in town for lunch or dinner and we just shoot the breeze.I'm also a parent to a year old shih tzu so she really keeps me busy during my free time.
