Dorina's Story
Wow! It has been 28 years since graduation. A lot has happened since then. I had really great memories with my friends sharing classes and lunch hours. Since leaving high school the road was long and winding with quite some obstacles I had to overcome. After leaving Medical Laboratory college, it was challenging to find a job in my field of choice. I ended up working at Canada's Wonderland for four summers 1996-1999. Then worked in two restaurants at Yorkdale Mall 2000-2006. Then returned to school to become a Medical Administrator and briefly worked at York Lanes Medical Center at York University from 2006 - 2008. I got married to Robert on September 1...Expand for more
5, 2007. I was diagnosed with stage 2 Nodular Sclerosing Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Before chemo treatment I had my first miscarriage to my first unborn child. I completed my treatment with stem cell transplant and radiation on December 2009 and I am now 11 years cancer free. I gave birth by c-section to my beautiful miracle baby boy Vincenzo Antonio on August 29th 2013. To this day I'm a stay at home mom/housewife for now and I am planning to return to work very soon when this pandemic is over. I live in the North York area and I hope that I can reconnect with my friends soon and share some stories with them and perhaps have a reunion in the future. God Bless!
