ELAINE (DORIS ELAINE's Story
Hi! I am Elaine Halsey. I lived with my cousin Sue Hartley thru high school. We had a nice circle of friends that included Beth Lee, Barbara Holloway, Judy Foster (?)_ (She married Jimmy Kennard) and of course lots of friends too numerous to mention each one. but I did consider all friends.
I've spent most of my working years helping my husband raise cattle on our farm in Missouri and later, Oklahoma . I worked at the United States Post Office and retired from there in '06. I am now a widow and run the farm with help from my children, although there isn't too much left to do since I've downsized a lot.
My favorite hobbies are in the crafts, but I tackle a lot of different things. I love to paint. Mostly landscape but have attempted portraits. With practice, I'll get good at that too. I do lots of decorative painting ...Expand for more
also. If I see it needs to be done, it's a job waiting on me.
I really like to read and write. I've written a few short stories and lots of fairy tales for the grandkids. Love all my grandkids. (and my kids) That's my reward for raising all my kids. Spoil"em and send "em home.
My favorite music is jazz, easy listening, R&B, country and of course, our "ROCK N ROLL". That never gets old. I love the era we grew up in.
I keep busy decorating and remodeling. The ideas are endless and the need always seems to be there too.. Plus yard work is in there.. Oh yeah. I also love to cook and recipe books are really fun to read.
Would love to hear from old classmates. My memory is still pretty sharp but sometimes, connecting faces with names takes a bit.
Enjoy each day. GOD has Blessed us with it. And we are never guaranteed tomorrow.
