Doris's Story
HI,
I am a retired middle school math teacher with a masters degree in Middle School Math. I was honored to be in a group hand selected to participate in the first masters degree program for middle school math. Needless to say, it was exciting for me.
I have been married 55 years and live in Kingwood, Texas, a north-east suburb of Houston. My husband, Pat, is a retired commercial pilot who enjoys playing with model airplanes.
My son, Michael, has 3 children - 2 boys, 8 & 6, and a girl, 4. He and his wife, Marina, have a real estate photography business. Luckily for me, he needs my help to shoot houses, too. This keeps me...Expand for more

My daughter, Emily, has my two oldest grandchildren. Synclaire is 16 now and Kali is 11. As I mentioned I retired from teaching; I wanted the opportunity to care for my two grand-daughters during the day. Those days are fond memories now. Synclaire is a junior is high school and Kali entered 6th grade which is her first year in middle school. Emily, a high school math teacher, majored in psychology but found she didn't want to hear people's problems. Luckily she had ventured into math, too, and was able to switch her career plans.
