Life
What can I say. Went back and got my M. Ed. just over a decade agoand spent a couple of years travelling around Nunavut and NWT teaching college business courses. That was after my kids went off to University. I flew through Yellowknife, my home and saw my husband regularly. For the last nine or ten years I've worked out of an office in my house on curriculum, program evaluation, writing, etc. and I'm on a couple of tribunals. I'm trying to write a book about Pitseolak Ashoona, an Inuit artist.
My husband Dave McCann is one of those fitness freaks but we have good holidays in Mexico, Arizona, California. finishing a Ph D at University of Southern California (chemistry). He's looking for a job. My daughter is here in YK, a manager public relations in the Govt. of the NWT - she's going to have her second child soon. Her husband works for Dave as a maintenance man and also get some grants/commissions to complete three d installations. My grandson calls me bama but he likes my singing so I can't complain.
We live on Great Slave Lake. I bike and walk and kayak in the summer (Our marriage survived the Nahanni River but it seemed prudent to switch to kayaks). In the winter we cross-country ski.The summers are sunny (22 hours a day) and we see great northern lights in the winter. (We also watch satellite TV.) We live in a cold place - it's the only problem, well except for the mosquitos.
