Dot's Story

A significant obstacle in the battle to overcome poverty is our perspective of what it means to be wealthy. It is urgent that we shift our focus from monetary and status gains to emotional, physical and spiritual progress. Capitalism relies on poor people, both to make the products nobody needs and to buy those goods for status growth. There must also be a reserve of unemployed to keep the masses motivated. We have three options, we can stop making endless, useless gizmos, we can refuse to purchase items we can not afford and don¿t need, or we can opt out of buying into either ends of this vicious cycle. When the powers that be experience the impact of this necessary perspective change and see the depth of this movement they are going to want to know what you are willing to spend your time and money on: universal health care, housing, education and sustainable farming.
