Dottie's Story

Life I graduated from Pensacola Christian College in May of 1999. Before I went to PCC, I had attended Fairhaven Baptist College in Chesterton, IN for one year fall of 1994 to the spring of 1995. At this college I made some good friends and I am hoping to be able to contact them through this internet service. Anyway, after graduating from college with a B.S. in Business Management I married Frank H. Moore, Jr. August 15th, 1999 and we moved to Corpus Chrisi, TX where we served the Lord in many ways. Frank became the principal of the christian school there and I was his secretary. We were also dorm parents to graduates from the girls' homes at the Roloff Homes, and Frank preached occassionally in local churches and every sunday morning at the church where we attended until his accident happened. He was hit by a drunk driver coming home from Walmart February 2,2001 which changed our lives forever. His mother had been down from NC to see her first grandbaby, Frank III whom was only 3 1/2 weeks old at the time, and she was killed in the accident. Needless to say life has never been the same since that day. The Lord has been so good though. Frank is in a wheelchair now and is recovering well. He is paralyzed from the chest down, but is gaining strength every month to enable him to do more and more independently of me. We are now back in NC where he grew up. We loved serving in CC, TX, but we felt it was time to move on November 2002. Frank is called to Evangelism. It has been kind of a rough road getting started but we have had the support of an a great friend who was in evangelism too. In 2008, we hosted our first Day camp for two days at the YMCA for those that are mentally/physicaly challenged. We had 6 campers to attend. This year we had camp for 3 days and had 21 total that came. The Lord tripled our attendance. Wonder what is in store for next year?! ng else in store for me and my future husband. In August 1999, Frank Moore,Jr. and I got married and moved to Texas where the Lord had us serve full time in Christian service. After tradegy struck in February 2001, Frank was hit by a drunk driver, we stayed where we were in Texas for another year and then moved to NC. In NC, Frank started preaching more and more, and I stayed home with my son. Shortly after we got in to our own home I started selling Avon as a rep., leader and beauty advisor. I sold Avon from the Winter of 2003 to the Winter of 2008 on and off. It was a blessing at the time, but I needed something that brought in a little more income. Present day, I am working at home through a company called West Company out of Nebraska. I answer my phone line at home and connect large corporations to their correct conf. calls. It is alot of fun!! About a week ago or so, I had an early shift and was connecting people to calls from Hong Kong!!! I also care for those that are mentally/physically challenged. We go out shopping, swimming, plant flowers, cook together, etc. I basically do whatever they feel like doing within reason of course. I have four clients right now that I do stuff with on a weekly basis. Sometimes I also pick up odd jobs to help bring in money. The two part time jobs keep me very busy though. My Son I have to say a little about him. He is the only child I have, want more, but all in time I guess. Frankie is his name, after his great granddaddy, granddaddy, and daddy. He was born 3 1/2 weeks before the car wreck happened and has been the glue to this whole situation I think sometimes. He is for sure my pride and joy. Frankie is 8 years old with red hair and freckles. My handsome little guy! He loves to play soccer and basketball. Yesterday, August 21, 2009, he got up on his bike for the first time by himself!! A very proud moment for me! I will be homeschooling him this year in 2nd grade work, might be able to get him done early. Again, he is my pride and joy and keeps me sane.
