Doug's Story
Life
Married 45 years and counting. 3 daughters, two are 35 (yes, they're twins). One graduated from ORU in Tulsa and teaches 5th grade. The other graduated from Azusa Pacific Univ. in SoCal and is an ER nurse (and mother to our marvelous granddaughter!). Our 32 yr old is working in Nashville and loving life. I went to San Jose State for a couple of years then travelled the country as a stage manager for a couple more. Co-Published a small Christian newspaper for a year or so. Deb and I were married in '80 and took off for Florida where I finished college in 1983. Did ministry, mostly with young people here in the Valley 'til 1999, then took off for Oklahoma, and after that, back to Florida. The young people we've had were...Expand for more
off the charts! So many amazing JH/HS/College kids and youth workers! We moved to Florida to help a ministry to Romanian street children. Travelled all over the US and many parts of the world ministering mostly to teenagers and people who worked with them, speaking at camps, retreats, seminars, conventions, and churches. Moved back to CA in 2004 and pastored a church for 12+ years, I'm now recovered from my second aortic dissection that should have killed me! I was teaching Middle School history at the time. I now substitute teach Middle School. What's next is a mystery! Life has been, and continues to be, full and amazing! What an adventure! Didn't see this coming when I was growing up in San Jose!! :) Who knew???!!!
