Doug's Story

Life My life since high school... in a nutshell... After graduation, I joined the Air Force where I spent 4 years of my life in Las Vegas. While in the Air Force, I graduated with an Associates degree in Construction Technology and married my wife. We left the Air Force after our daughter Ashlee was born and moved back to Oregon where we lived in Redmond (near Bend) for another 4 years. It was there that I continued to work as a mechanical designer (air conditioning, heating and plumbing design of commercial buildings) for a small company. During this time, my son Ryan was born. The small company soon was sold and subsequently closed down which forced us to move back to the more "...Expand for more
stable" Willamette Valley. We decided mechanical engineering wasn't the best of career fields and I spent the next 2 years completing my 2nd degree at OSU (BS in Computer Science). After 1-1/2 years of that, Nike asked me to work for them so we once again postponed finishing the degree and went to work for them as a software geek (who could say no to Nike - in any job?) Since working for Nike (starting 7th year), I've had a pretty good career and finalized my BS degree in 2003. On a personal side, my kids are very active in sports and appear to be handling school with ease (thank God, but they definitely did NOT get it from me!). Things at this point (Jan, 2008) are going very well.
