Doug's Story

Life Well, 16 years after that first interview, I'm still working with Southwest Airlines. About two years ago, I decided it was time to stay a little closer to home, and have the ability to come home every night. That being said, I took a position with our Inflight Services Department as an Inflight Supervisor at the Houston Base. I moved back from Arizona in 2004 and married my beautiful wife (Barbara) on October 15, 2004. We lived in the Richmond area, but decided to make a move to Sienna Plantation in December. In August of 2007, Barbara gave birth to our beautiful new addition (Noah Douglas Shaw). He is absolutely perfect, and a welcome addition to our other two boys, Alex 9 and Bryce 6. They are great big brothers and a tremendous help with their new little brother. Noah turns one year old on August 16th, 2008. Since graduation, I have lived in Houston, Dallas, Odessa, Midland, San Antonio, Phoenix, Arizona, Richmond Texas and most recently Missouri City Texas. My little sister (Kristin)lives in Celina with her husband and their 5 boys, the two oldest (Conner and Braden)...Expand for more
playd on the State 3-A Championship Celina Bobcat Football Team in 2007. Conner is a Senior this year....what a way to end High School. They are very excited, and WOW did the Team splurge and get them some bling. Rings the size of a College level Championship. Dana is currently a Flight Attendant for SWA as well. She has been with the Company for a little over 10 years now and is living in Fort Lauderdale. She flies out of the Chicago Base, but commutes from Florida. My family is doing great and we try to get together as often as possible...when schedules allow. In 2007, I lost my oldest sister Deborah to a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. She has a beautiful daughter Cameron and a grandson, Shaw Caden Steltzman. As well, my Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer in late July of 2008. He is currently undergoing radiation therapy and because the tumor is seemingly very new, they believe that they can stop its growth and destruction in his lung. We pray that this treatment works. Thanks for stopping by. It's been a while since I updated this entry! Hope everyone is doing well.
