Doug's Story

UPDATE: I'll be leaving this site permanently at the end of this year. It makes no sense to me to stay here when I get 3 visits a year. Look for me on Facebook or LinkedIn instead. Life What's to tell? Went to school, graduated (B.Sc. Comp.Sci. UWO). Retired now. Easiest part of life: I'll let you know when I find it. Don't hold your breath. Biggest Regret: If she contacts me, I'll tell her in person. If not....I guess I won't. But if you know where she is... Words to live by: "I can't help about the shape I'm in I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin But don't ask me what I think of you I might not give the answer that you want me to" (Fleetwood Mac) Motto: "You listen to the blues at your own risk" (Elwood Blues) What else? Not much. I'm still a budding author (like that'll happen), love music, hate dancing, and a lot of other things you'll have to ask me to find out. Make it snappy - you don't have much time. Also, there are many people here (and elsewhere) who have helped to make me who and what I am today. Please do not hold it against them. Just Remember: In the battle between you and the world, bet on the world. School ...Expand for more
I could say that I loved school...but that wouldn't be true. I flat out hated high school, and nothing has happened since that makes me even think about changing my mind. I had an English teacher who turned me off reading for at least 15 years. I'm amazed that I ever started again. Socially, school was a waste of time. I was a complete geek and the girls were looking in any other direction College Ah, University! There were so many good things...I think I remember most of them. The best times were: being an editor at the UWO Gazette, and spending long hours with the finest group of reprobates I've ever had the good fortune to know (Peanuts, Hank, Bill D.,the Karens (:L& W)...come on down...) I learned photography, editing, newspaper writing and even managed to get to a few classes. I wish the friends I had then had stayed in my life, but at the end of it all, we all went our separate ways. You know who you are...I just wish I knew where you are. Workplace I've worked in some great places, and with (and for) some wonderful people (are you out there, Fells?) I've also been in some very bad places, and the less said and thought about those, the better.
