Douglas's Story
So my schoolfriends, here's the short version. I managed medical clinics for 20 years, owned and ran a few businesses, served as a councilman in Gold River, B.C. I have been married 3 times and my sweet Patti Lou just passed away on June 25, 2020. We were married for 14 years. Sometimes, LIFE is just hard, I am still overwhelmed!! Medically, over the past 15 months I have had 5 majour surgeries including a R and L hip replacement probably from running 55 marathons. Five weeks after my L hip replacement in October 2019 I had a heart attack in Yuma Arizona.. I have 6 kids who have produced 24 grandchildren and more to come. Surely that will put me on top for production! I am an avid golfer and have spent the past six winters in Arizona. I may still travel to Arizona for winter golf but now on my own. I have purchased a 4 bedroom home close to Lethbridge, where 3 kids and 13 grand kids live. Just me and my beloved Lhasa Apso dog. All the best to you all, Cheers, Doug Arcus PS Just had my 2nd skin cancer removed from my face, too many hours in the sun in our early days, moving to Lethbridge Alberta Novembe...Expand for more
r 13, 2021, will see a bunch of grand kids, also # 23 due in December, match that my dear school friends! Summer of 2023, I will head back to Vancouver and the Island to visit family and Verdie Blake and Dave Johnson, have been in close contact with Dave as he has very serious dementia. Hopefully will also see Wayne Anderson in Princeton and maybe a side trip to Dawson Creek. Will plan to play golf in all these areas with my buds. Anyone have a phone number for Gary Stenhouse, would like to connect with him also. All the best to you all. PS sure would like to have another reunion in The Creek, missed the last one as I wasn't in the loop. So today is November 11, 2023 and tomorrow early I will travel to Campbell River to see my beloved friend Dave Johnson, he is very swiftly passing away, hope I get there in time, many great memories of my cherished friend, Cheers, Doug
PS Sadly Dave passed away the morning of November 12, 2023, I was probably travelling around Hope B.C. from Lethbridge at the time, Rest In Peace, great friend. Will visit with Tara, Dave's daughter, and tell of my wonderful memories of Dave.
