Douglas's Story
Life
I joined the Navy shortly after graduation from high school, and spent the next 24 years traveling around the world. I retired from Naval service in 94 and am living, working, and have graduated from college here in San Diego CA. Lovely weather here. Sure is a long way from where I started. Am thinking the next time I retire, will move back eastward somewhere. Our youngest daughter is a jazz musucian who graduated from high school in 2008. egree. She wants to audition for, and join the California National Guard as a sax player. A good choice for her. All she seems to be interested in is music and the military.
Military
Not sure where to start here. Spent 24 years in the Navy, served on 7 different ships, lived on Guam, Hawaii, Japan, the Philippines, in San Francisco, Virginia Beach VA, and currently San Diego, made 13 deployments to various places, visited 28 countries, many several times. Retired as a Commissioned Naval Officer in '94.
