Douglas's Story
Life
IÂm a Senior Software engineer/architect specializing in Real-Time Embedded Systems design and analysis. My wife is a CPA studying to become a lawyer. We have three kids (of the four legged kind). Two are approximately fourteen years old (Shih TzuÂs) and one is probably about two (we adopted a Maltese found wandering in the streets).
After graduating college (UB) I worked 5 years at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. I left Houston to work for E-Systems/Raytheon in Dallas, Texas for 17 years. After meeting my wife, I moved to the New Orleans, Louisiana Area in 2002. We survived Katrina with minimal damage as compared to others who lost everything. I still enjoy science fiction, but nowadays I do a lot more watching (Star Gate, BattleStar, Movies, etc) than reading. I do spen...Expand for more

15 minutes of fame:
The first 5 minutes occurred while I was working at NASA in the early 80s during the first Space Shuttle flights. The second 5 occurred when I met my wife. The third five, well lets just say the jury is still out on that one, for now.
