My life has been a huge adventure, and the adventure continues. The kids are grown, and I am really enjoying life in San Diego. Educated with a bachelor's in English and master's in organizational leadership. After graduating from high school - being blacklisted from sports because I would not play football - I worked for one year and joined the U.S. Navy to do something greater than myself. Twenty years later, including a three-year tour with VP-64 at NAS Willow Grove (83-86), and two years at the Philadelphia Navy Yard (86-88), I "retired" from the Navy. During my time at VP-64, I flew on the P-3 Orion "sub hunter" airplanes, once cross country to "Fightertown USA," which was then NAS Miramar, via the Grand Canyon, (1986). Upon arrival back in San Diego in 1988 after changing my Navy job, I wrote for the Navy Dispatch newspaper and got freelance work with "Chargers Football Weekly" magazine, covering the San Diego Chargers (1989-1997).
