Doug's Story

High school didn't challange me. I had a 92 average and decided to leave and get a job. Two years later I joined the Air Force and found out that leaving high school was a BIG mistake so I went back to school for 2-1/2 years while in the Air Force and another two years after I was out of the service. It was tough but I finally received my diploma from the state. I had spent over four years in SAC (Strategic Air Command) as a jet mechanic and learned a lot. I went into auto mechanics and worked my way up to Service Manager. I married in 1964 and we had a girl and a year and a half later had a boy. In 1972, we moved our familiy to New Mexico where we still live today. I went to work for the gas company and became their fleet supervisor and later became their Alternative Fuel Service Manager. xt 5 years and two months I studied hard and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.86 GPA in Business and earned me an immediate promotion at work, My wife and I spent a brief 6 years living in a resort retirement community in Sun Lakes, Arizona from 2002 to 2008. While there, we put our 7 years of dance lessons from Arthur Murray to work and danced three times a week. We also became presidents of one of the four ballroom dance clubs in Sun Lakes. We moved back to New Mexico when we found out that our daughter-in-law was going to have our first grand-daughter. Our daughter has three boys. We love to travel and still have some relatives alive in the east coast spread out from NJ to Florida. Diane studies and keeps up to date on vitamins and healthy foods to keep us both healthy and we both exercise and go to the gym to keep ourselves fit. Fortunately we have no bad health problems and are looking forward to a long life. That's about it in a nutshell. I'd love to hear from old classmates.
