Douglas's Story
I am from Sacramento, California. I lived in Berkeley from 1960-63 and Bakersfield from 63-70. I went to Col. Nichols on Renegade(were we lived) and Compton Jr High. I moved back to Sacramento in 1970. My high schools include East Bakersfield High School, Highlands HS, San Juan HS and Encina HS. I later attended Los Rios Colleges (Journalism). Douglas has been in Television/Still photography production for 34 years. I retired on 12/21/18.
I've been married since 1981. I have two grown kids, one granddaughter, a six year old Black Lab and a Mastiff puppy. My father Forrest Wood was a retired Cal State Bakersfield professor. My mother Ruth is a retired Sacramento Special Edu. teacher living in a Board and Care facility after ...Expand for more
a stroke in 2012. My older half-sister Debra died on 5/26/90 after a 20 year struggle with drug addiction. She has a 50 year old son in Los Angeles
Douglas's interests include Family, volunteering, reading, Cycling, Weightlifting, Motorcycling, guitar, and travel photography.
I have always wondered what happened to classmates from Compton Jr High, EBHS, San Juan and Highlands. Some of my friends at Compton then EBHS were Curt and Greg Ashbeck, Bill Paup, Kelly Handley, Rick Darrow, Kurt Peterson, Steve Hill, David Reece, Barbie Best, Robyn Harmon, Sue Hankin, Brenda McCoy, Nancy Wielhelm and the O'Hearn family. David Reece and I spent many Summer weekends riding horses at the Stockdale, Ace and Burroughs stables near Oildale.
