Life I've spent half my adult life as an elementary school teacher in Missouri, Colorado, Texas, and Mexico. The other half was spent in corporate finance in Washington state and Colorado. I've lived in Colorado longer than any other place in my life. I've dabbled some in politics. I was elected as a city councilman in Colorado in a non-partisan election. I served as a Republican county chairman about the same time. I later worked a couple years as an aide to a Colorado state legislator. The highlight of my working life has to be being a teacher in Mexico from 1999 to 2001. I went down there knowing no Spanish and very little about the metric system. I taught mostly middle income youngsters at a bilingual Mexican private school in Guadalajara for one year. The next year I taught the truly rich at a US international school in Mexico City. I dealt with kids from 22 different nations spread over four continents.
