Dru is from Springfield,Ohio. Dru's schools include Sharp Park Elementary School, Cascades Elementary School, Frost Elementary School, Red Cedar Elementary School, Donley Elementary School, MacDonald Middle School, Roosevelt Middle School, Springfield North High School. Dru later attended Clark State Community College (History, Drafting), University of Findlay (Theatre) , Ohio Northern University (Musical Theatre) and Clark State again (Business with HR focus).

Dru had a 21 year career as a 911 dispatcher and supervisor. Four years ago she began her second career journey, now in Human Resources.
