Duane's Story
Life
Gee how can someone write their BIO with only 4000 characters. Mrs. D would love this!!!! Ok call it for what it is...who is going to read this anyway! Hummm, well if you are you should know by now that no grass grows under my butt! I have done more things; been to more places; than most of the couch potatoes and yet, there is so much more to see and do in life. Like most of you I graduated from various places and have the degrees behind me and all the trappings that any of us can fixate upon. I guess I am most joyful of having skied in Canada, New Zealand, most of the west and of course all the bumps in the midwest. I have 3 guitars that sit there and smile collecting dust but have had some great time with music groups and even have a cd of music most of it original but not very good except to us....run a non-profit corporation out on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation and work as a business executive with a management company...have built churches, parish halls, and like venture capitalism....gee and me a liberal!
Lost my butt in the stock market and if someone is interested in 500,000 shares of a on-line grocery business I will be more than glad to sell them!!!! Looks like most of us will be working well beyond our expectations. I would like to crank it up a bit and continue to do new things and...Expand for more
find the utlimate paradise not contaminated by greed....maybe some island in micronesia will be where I will ultimately end up spending the quiet times of life.
Until then I will continue to visit family in Marquette...eat pasties and dream of togos;sit at the beach in England with my relatives; ski with friends; eat lobster in Maine with the Bathstards; raise money for the families of the survivors of Wounded Knee at Bridger, SD which can be found if you do a search under the word Bridger.
Philosphically I have come to grips with the cynic inside and could care less about yesterday's success and failures. Which should inform you dear reader that I am still the same as I always have been....which gotta cause you to laugh...if not why are you reading my bio?
Well I have traveled the road from social work, community aciton, ministry and business, visiting the world, and being fortunate to have helped create some of the change along the way. In my travels I have met the faces of love and life which is truly a gift. I have been taught by the best teachers in the world who continue to challenge me to catch the vision of what is possible. Dreams are reality under construction.....so dream reality into being..... for nothing happens until you move doubt out of the way. I still want a t shirt with that on it!!!
