Duane's Story
Life
My life has been a roller coaster, a fantastic fun-filled ride.
I re-married in 2001 to Natalya, my Russian princess. She dislikes the label but agrees that it fits. She immigrated to America in 1991 and still has a pretty thick accent like you would hear in the film "Doctor Zhivago"
Yes, I do know the language (Russian), but still cannot read it :)
Child roll-call:
Taryn is 16, Logan is 14, Christian (step) is 9, and baby Angelina is 4 (princess behavior is genetic)
Pet roll-call:
Reechic (Red cat)
Moshca (Grey cat)
I'm in that 2% or less that loves their job. My wife often says that it consumes me. Also parties tend to be a drag for her since most of my friends are "techies." The up side is that she was an English professor at a university near Kiev, so when ever I have reports to write I get a speech on the state of my bad grammar, and the corrections so I donÂt look foolish in meetings. But anyway, here's some more history. After my hitch with the active military I attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. flying, I landed right were family and friends always knew I would, heavily into the tech sector. HW/SW Development is a wonderful thing because your exposed to the technology months, sometimes years before the rest of the world sees it. Wonderfully scary stuff. But after 10 years at IBM, I needed a change. Then in June 05, I was offered the position of Manager of IT for an insurance company. I accepted and been involved in a lot of really exciting projects. Which then lead to a opportunity at Wells Fargo in their IT shop. I also do some contract work on the side as a hobby business.
School
Wow, if only we could count the number of times in a life where a person could say, "if only..." Like gains of sand, you could spend a million lifetimes counting the possibilites
For me, mostly I was bored with school.
Didn't really have any focus on where I was going in school, so I just went.
I remember I was not a great joiner of activities, though I envied people that did
The bulk of my friends did not go to Parker, most went to the enemy high school accross town. Not how I planned it, but it just worked out that way
Workplace
I think I talk about it to much in my personal Bio
