Duncan's Story
Life
It's hard to believe nearly 50 years has passed since I drove away from graduation ceremony in my 1972 Firebird!
I've retired from the Air Force and I have thoroughly enjoyed serving my country. I traveled to some really cool places, done some amazing things, and I am very thankful for those opportunities. I've settled down in Yorktown, VA, retired again from the state and still traveling on a whim.

Military
Wow! How does one summarize 24 years of military/work experience into 4000 characters? I started as a jet engine mechanic and retired as an aircraft crash investigator. I also held other positions in environmental management, quality management and leader...Expand for more
ship development. Talk about diverse, the military taught me well.
I learned to speak 'Valley Dude' in California, 'Tex-Mex' in Del Rio, Texas, and experience the true art of yard sale'n in Arkansas. My stateside tours have been interesting to say the least. Yet taking a two-year tour of Iceland and stretching it to nearly six years was the ultimate test of endurance. I'll go back in a heartbeat.
I've settled in Gloucester, Virgina; a half-day drive to my New England roots although I prefer to fly up there to save time. I'm retired and work in government procurements as a consultant for various defense supply contractors.
