Dustin's Story
Greetings. Life has been good. Still living in South Florida. I married my wife, Kerry on September 16, 2000 in Princeton, NJ and we have a beautiful boy named Hunter Shane. He will turn 7 on February 1, 2009. My spare time includes playtime with the boy, working on our house (seems like the list never ends) and driving my 1994 Jeep Wrangler (A gift from Kerry last year). Golf? Nope, no golf. Maybe 3-4 times a year since 2001. I gave up the game when I knew Hunter was on the way. Everyone is healthy and happy. My parents are also healthy and doing very well. My brother, Tracy, is living in Atlanta and loves his career w/ SquareD.
I still talk to Janine Lapinta and Matt Osborne weekly. Michele Coehlo too. This past year, I've been in touch with Tim Potter, Tonya George, Kim Fox, Don Manning, Tom O'Brien, Steve Yancey, Amy Georgopoulos, Kathy Miceli, Todd McCabe, Casey Burt, Laura Clarke, Tami Steinlage and Ryan Perna. Everyone is doing great.
I'm still interested in organizing a small reunion. Zion had a gathering last year at Quietwaters for the 1990's classes. Maybe we can do something for the 80's. Contact me with your thoughts. Thanks.
College
After graduating from Zion, I squeeze my four years into five at Florida State Unversity. GO NOLES! Got my B.S. Degree and played on FSU's golf team. I captained my Junior and Senior years and played in a National C...Expand for more
hampionship. It was great fun and overall, a terrific experience. Matt Osborne was in my dorm the first year and I saw David Teske occasionally. I was also a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. Hell yes I would do it all over again!
Workplace
Let me first say, I didn't think I would, but I love what I do. I've been in the car business since early 2002 and have several Zion and FSU clients. I mostly deal with new and used luxury cars, but I can handle everything under the sun. The company is Progressive Motors in Pompano Beach. I'm the only salesperson which makes it very nice, but extremely busy. Years ago, Steve Neary, Tom O'Brien and Matt Broden worked here too.
Prior to the cars, if you didn't know, I played golf professionally for 9 years competing several professional tours in the US, Europe and Asia. Brother Tracy caddied for me several times. My biggest accomplishment was qualifying for the 1995 US Open at Shinnecock Hills in NY. Due to an injury, I had to take some time off from playing and I coached for three years at Nova Southeastern University. The NSU position worked out brilliantly. I started the woman's golf team in 1997 and it's nice to see them now as a national top 10 NCAA Div II team. I miss working with the kids.
Ok, now you are updated. I hope you are doing well also. Feel free to reach me anytime. I'd love to catch up.
All the best.
Dustin
