Dwight's Story
I'm sure nobody remembers me unless you look me up in the Sargasso. I was the painfully shy guy who sat in the back of the classroom. I disliked high school with a passion. It's strange how I became a teacher.
My fifth-grade teach (Mrs. Mary Medley at Darrough Chapel) told me I would be a good teacher. I loved her. She had a direct impact on my career choice. I would love to contact her. I've looked everywhere trying to find her. No avail. I would consider my best friend in High School to be Tom Abbott. Great guy! We used to go to a Christian Youth Group. uldn't let anyone pick on me when they were around. Thanks, Nadine & Stan wherever you are! I shared my home for 17 years with my little sister, Lisa. She had Down's syndrome. She died last November 28. I'm dealing with the grief as best as I can. She was my world. Little angel. Anyone who met her, fell in love with her. I got a tattoo yesterday that says, "I heart with an arrow Lisa" This is something I would write to her and post it on the wall. She wrote the same to me sometimes. Our little catch phrase, I guess. I hope my old classmates see me as not a very shy person with no personality, but someone who may have made a great friend if they would have taken the time to get to know me a little better.
