Dyan's Story
I grew up on the Ventura Ave. I went to De Anza, Cabrillo, Ventura High School and Ventura College. My sister and I were Karen and Diane McGlaughlin, and my cousin is Shery Boley.
Shery and I surfed down off of pierpont in the 1960's.
My bestfriend in school was Linda Davis and we are still in contact.
I have been married and divorced and have one daughter.
While attending college I joined the Operating Engineers' local #12. I was Venturas' first woman in our local union. I spent 18 years operating heavy equipment. For being a woman and small that was a big step.

I opened a store on Main street (still maintaining my operator job) . After closing my businesss I moved to Nevada, bought some acres and horses and got married. After divorcing I moved back to Calif. In the 1990's I went to work at the main Jail in Ventura. I did the purchasing for the medical and dental depts. of the 3 county jails.
I am now single and retired, I live 1 block from the beach and it's beautiful, but miss the small town quiet country living.
