Dyanne's Story
After I graduated, I started working at Hewlett-Packard where I stayed for 10 years as a Marketing Technical Writer and Executive Assistance.
I met my husband of 25 years at HP. We have 2 children, boy 20, girl 18. I have a son, 30 who is in the Army on his 3rd tour to Afghanistan.
I moved to Sun Microsystems for another 8 years.
I left Sun and started working as a Human Resource Manager which I loved for the next 10 years.
Started college late but got it done. A BS in Business.
Also spent time at SJSU taking Human Resourse classes for certification.
I have also spent the past 13 years as an actor for our local Police Department. I role play with SWAT, K-9, Hostage Negotiators, and general police training. I completed the Citizen's Academy Course and participate in ride-alongs.
Now I am a stay home mom and enjoying my free time.
I miss my oldest son dearly because he is stationed on the East Coast in New York State, and will stay active until this war is over. I only get to see him once or twice a year which is hard on all of us especially when he is called back to the Middle East. He is currently serving his 3rd tour of duty and has 3 purple hearts. He is ALWAYS sent to very dangerous locations. Just last week he lost 7 men from his company in 1 day.
We love to travel, especially to Hawaii. I love the snow and enjoy trips to Colorado and Washington. Have traveled to Europe, the Middle East, Egypt, and Africa.
We are trying to decide whether to retire in Hawaii or the Mountains in CA, Washington, or Colorado.
I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Howard Bell, because He never made fun of me. Never threatened me, and never hurt my feelings as most all of you did at one time or another.
My current age is 51. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be cooking all day and taking lots of naps. I was so completely wrong. I am in the prime of my life and do more...Expand for more
today then I ever thought I would be doing.
My best friend would tell you I'm a great listener, caring, and a natural with kids, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as having a good sense of humor, entertaining with people I know, a bit shy with new people, and someone may think I lack a bit of self confidence.
When I need to let off steam or having a tough week, my favorite way to unwind would be to get some training exercise time with our police department's K-9. That always works for me.
I role play with SWAT and K-9. Shooting and being attacked by police dogs will take the steam right out of your tough day!
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, bagel, and a smile to be able to deal with the day-to-day.

If I could improve my home, I'd remodel master bedroom and add on a 5th guest room. My dream home would be on the beach in Maui.
Always talk TO your kids, never AT your kids. No matter how little or big they are.

In 10 years, I hope to be Retired. I'm going to get there by 2013.
Now it is 2023 and I have been married for 39 years. I moved to Southern CA where I live 4 miles from the beach. As a photographer I just love it down here. I have the San Diego Safari Park, the San Diego Zoo and the ocean where I go whale watching regularly. I love my life and my family. My daughter is a paralegal in a pristine law firm in downtown San Diego and my middle son is a very successful electrician working in the bay area. My oldest son is now honorably discharged from the Army after driving over an IED. He is now a disabled veteran but thrilled that he was not killed. He and his wife are expecting their first child in June. We will celebrate her birth after our middle son's first child, a girl who is ten. L
