I kicked around Rock Hill, Southport NC and McBee SC working construction for a couple years. While on a road trip to Tampa Florida Christmas of 1980, Richard Salay and I decided to join the Army. After an X rated night at the Old paper Doll lounge in Charlotte NC off we went to Fort Jackson SC for basic training. To the surprise of our families we both made it through basic training. We both went to Germany him to Stuttgart and me to Neu Ulm. Well he got out after a couple of years and I met a girl from Argentina and got married and had three children whom are now are all professionals and have great careers. Though the marriage did not workout I have no regrets, just three great kids and two granddaughters. After three cold winters in New York I told the Army to send me somewhere warm. I am married once again live in Hawaii have twins and a great wife. Every time I come to Rock Hill I see how it has grown, to be honest like it how it was. The same with Myrtle Beach SC, what a crime they were so dumb to destroy the Pavilion! I remember skipping school with Jill Johnson in the middle of February to reserve a room at the Buccaneer in OD; it was like a ghost town there not a car to be seen for a mile in either direction. I was lucky enough to be in Myrtle Beach SC the last summer the Pavilion was open and take my kids to see it and play some games there. Great memory they had never rode a roller coaster before and ones at the Pavilion were their first.
