Ed's Story
Immediately after HS, joined the USAF (enlisted). 6yrs went by and then went to UMBC&UMAB, BS in nursing (currently an RN). Worked at ShockTrauma as an OR RN then rejoined the USAF (officer this time around). Retired from the USAF at 43 and went back to ShockTrauma as the Charge RN for the OR's at ShockTrauma (6 ORs)......very very busy place.........people are dying to get in ;) !!! Saw an opportunity to do more "good" so I went to Walter Reed Med Ctr and was nightshift Charge RN for the last 6yrs of my career('00-'06). Worked on alot of wounded from Iraq and Afganhistan (these wars HAVE TO STOP). Retired now and am enjoying life, gardening, my wife, my two daughters (somebody's paying me back for something!), and our two dogs.

So, what am I doing now? When I'm not gardening, I play a guitar or a few guitars for an afternoon. It's wonderful to just play away until dark. Used to play in Badge and a Sloan Bros Band prior. Really got my teen years off to quite a start! Playing...Expand for more
at White Horse Inn "Go-Go Girls" (40 East)at 16yrs old and getting paid for it to boot! Anyway, I've been getting into a custom guitar builder in L.A. (Ron Thorn) and really enjoy playing his creations. So intensely personal and expressive.
I also really like playing my PRS guitars (Maryland-made). They're outstanding. A good many afternoons/evenings lost in time to guitar playing. Glad I stuck with it but wished I'd given it even more.
You don't want to hear about guitars.....
I also play "stay-at-home Dad" and pick my daughters up from school when needed.
Cook supper most of the time. Love to grill! Doing Stand-Up Turkey on the Weber this year. Did a 24lb Stand-Up style last year in the kettle and it was marvelous. Better than deep fried. Moist, juicy, crisp outside, not greasey (but moist), did I say moist? :)
Brine it! Most definitely brine it! 2-3 days in an ice chest. I make my brine mix too. It's easy, but a lot of stirring.
If you stop by, send me a note or email.
