Ed's Story

Life Living in Nashville, writing songs, singing and playing guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and banjo. Venues range from dances to historic site events background music to places like The Station Inn and Bluebird Cafe - two of the three most famous stages in Nashville. (Grand Old Opry is the third.) Wife, Ellen, is a semi-retired paralegal. Between us we have 8 children, 11 grandchildren, and a lot of love and laughter. Left high school in junior year ('67) to join the Army after my father was murdered back in Cleveland, Ohio. Spent 2 years in Germany, year in Vietnam, 2 years at the induction center in Nashville, and 8 years in public affairs for the Tennessee Army National ...Expand for more
Guard. Spent 18 years in journalism covering business and technology for The Tennessean, various magazines, and finally USA Today before I stopped writing about the business of technology and got directly involved. Today I pay the bills as a technology analyst at Specialists On Call Inc., a telemedicine company based in Reston, Va. School Mister Lippman, who taught auto shop, and Linda Thomas, who taught English and enouraged me to write, were the teachers who inspired me the most. I wouldn't do it all over again because if I did, the things I would change - more focus on music, not leaving for the military - could have altered the path that led me to meeting my wife.

Just delivered. With 10 grandchildren age 10 and under, you just gotta give them a way to burn energy before they come into the house. ;-)
