Ed's Story
Life
After graduating, I spent 3+ years at Montclair State College studying to be an Industrial Education and Technology teacher (fancy title for shop teacher). Realizing that teaching was not for me and I would not survive the rigors of the high school shop classroom (or the students wouldnÂt have survived me), I promptly left Montclair to "find myself".
I quickly found myself, and a young wife Chris McCabe and married in October of 1971. A quick lesson in economics taught me that college or technical training was necessary for survival, so it was off to Chubb Institute of Computer Technology as a day student while working full time nights.
Having graduating Chubb, I left my night job at Automatic Data Processing and worked for one year as a programmer (consultant) on the SafeGuard Missle Project. For security reasons, individuals not employed directly by IBM, IT&T, or federal government could particip...Expand for more
ate on the project for no more than a year, even with top secret security clearance.
After a visit to a recruiter, it was back to Automatic Data Processing in November of Â73 where I started work as a Programmer Trainee (again). IÂm still at ADP, working as a Technologies Consultant on their latest end-to-end Internet based payroll/HR product, TotalChoice.
Christine and I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. My oldest son and grandkids live in South Carolina, daughter lives with Christine, and my youngest son lives with me. As you can tell, after 25 years, Christine and I divorced.
I have since re-married to a wonderful, loving woman, Geralyn, and we share a spacious home in a private lake community in Vernon, NJ. Along with a new wife, I also got in the bargin another loving daughter, Chrissy, who lives only 3 doors away and has provided two additional grandsons, Dustin and Gavin. Life is good...
