Life, what an adventure! Started out at 19 from Barrie with my thumb and hitch-hiked to Vancouver to catch up to my soul mate Lyn, (we dated in school). My first ride was with a hippie from California on his way home. One week later he dropped me off in Yellowstone as a converted vegetarian, still one today. Got married had 2 kids immigrated to New Zealand, moved to Australia, spent 10 months wandering the outback in a VW van. Five years later back on Canadian soil living once again in a VW van. Moved onto an island with only one small cabin. Located just off Chesterman Beach in Tofino. A sandbar connects it to the main island for access during low tide. Found work in Alberta and spent 10 years in a house with only an outhouse. First 2 years we melted snow for our morning shower then hand dug a 25 foot well. Sold up and spent 10 months backpacking throughout Southeast Asia with the kids, including a 21-day trek to base-camp Everest. Fell in love with Nepal, pilgrimage to Lhasa in Tibet, yoga in India. ...Expand for more
