Edbert's Story

Life I retired from teaching Art at Shawnee Heights High School, Tecumseh, Ks. in 1994. I now enjoy creating art, working in the yard and garden, and doing video production as a hobby. My wife, Jan, and I used to do wedding videos, but didn't like the stress. Also, it cut into our time to enjoy traveling. l I attended The University of Kansas, living in Stevenson Scholarship Hall, and received a BFA degree in Printmaking in 1961. I was accepted into the BMA program at the KU business school in the fall of 1961 and spent one semester studing in that program, and discovered business was not my area, so in the spring of 1962 I enrolled in the Art Education Program at KU. I graduated in the summer of 1963 with a BAE degree, certifited to teach art. In 1972 I received an MA degree in Printmaking from Emporia State University.
