William's Story
Life
I went to St.Joe Public School,a small school in northern Arkansas. I dropped out at 16, got my GED i joined the National Guard in 88. I was in my second semester at NACC when my unit was alerted for Desert Storm. After desert storm, I took some art classes in college even did very well. I recieved an art scholarship. I used the money i saved from desrt storm to buy a small house trailer. My girlfriend (later my wife), Karen, moved to Conway and I finished my art education degree while there.
Karen and I were married in march of 93. My first Regular Army duty assignment was in Germany. I was there a year then I was deployed to Bosnia. Karen had our third child while I was in Bosnia. He was born with downs. Billy lights up my life with his beaming personality. Karen passed away the following april. She had came down with thyroid cancer and we did not catch it...Expand for more

I moved to Fort Sill and raised my kids there for a few years. I moved to Tulsa to be a Recruiting Commander. I was remarried in 2004 to Heather, we had a child in Dec 2005. We were divorced 2007.
Military
I joined the Arkanasas National Guard 224th Maint to be specific in February of 1988. In may, i went to basic in Fort Sill. I also attended AIT at Fort Sill until Jan of 1989.
In November 1990, our unit was alerted and mobilized to Fort Sill Oklahoma. We didnt go to Saudi until January of 91. We stayed throughout the war then remained until june. I remained in the Guard until 96.
At that point, I recieved my commission and joined the regular army. I was stationed at Fort Sill again long enough to make it through OBC then went to Germany.
I returned to Fort Sill in May 99 and then to Tulsa Recruiting Company in 2004.
I was deployed to Iraq in 2007.
