Eddy's Story
Life
Since graduation I went to UIC and majored in physical therapy and minored in dance. After college I pursued a career in the performing arts and performed with the Joel Hall Dancers, River North Chicago Dance Company, and Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, where I retired from dancing after six years. I then moved to LA where I danced in music videos for Michael Jackson, Jody Watley, and was featured in several TV series and movies like "The Visitors", "The Survivors", "Soul Survivors", and other numerous films. Because I was starting to feel my age, I decided to kick off the old dance shoes and enter the field of arts administration. So I moved back to Chicago in Spring 2000 and became the director of the Giordano Dance Center in Chicago and the director of Giordano II. I have choreographed on companies that span 5 continents as well as the 2002 Miss USA Pageant, produced by Donald Trump. I am so lucky that I have traveled all over the ...Expand for more
world with my career as a master teacher and choreographer as well as an advisor on many arts panels across the U.S, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Asia and the Russian Republic. I currently own my own production company, Bento Box Productions, and reside in Lincon Park, as well as direct a non for profit youth arts organization in Libertyville, IL. In 2004 for I was the recipient of the 2004 Outstanding Choreographer of the Year Award for Dance Chicago, Recipient of the 2006 Cliff Dwellers Arts Foundation Award for Outstanding Contribution to Dance, 2007 EDE National Choreography Award Recipient (Detroit, Michigan). Leo's 2007 International Jazz Choreography Award Winner, and was named Filipino American of the Year in 2005.
If you ever bumped into me you would have a hard time recognizing me
because I lost 60 pounds since graducation and still manage to keep it off (although it gets harder and harder!). Hope everyone is doing well.
