Edward 's Story

Life ~Osiyo~ Hello to you all. What a journey ... and it continues. First a warrior, with the 82nd Airborne Division and 7th SF Group, then a builder as an Engineer, now to be a healer in medical research and Rez Med. After leaving the great AuSable Valley,Keeseville and our united schools, the paths I have walked, and there were many, taking me across continents and situations that seems were out of some adventure novel. FTA - Fun,Travel& Adventure I've seen the world and some of the most incredible sights. Most people see events and remember history. I was there while it was happening around me. There have been costs though, and having children not untill I was 28 and 42, I haven't any grandchildren. My children are the ages of others grandchildren. Of the most amazing things are my three beautiful daughters. The eldest has my wanderlust, and my two youngest are too engaging ... lets just say NO chemistry set for them. I have a feeling it could get bigger than everyone involved! Today I'm preparing through adjunct courses work in pre-med and Bio-life sciences at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. I really love the Great Lakes, and Michigan in general. I always knew I'd end up here. It was a question of when. Well I made it and love it. I will be updating this. I just wanted let you all know I'm alive and well and wonder why in the world I'm still in one complete fully functional body. It's been broken, shot, blown up, survived a parachute...Expand for more
malfunction, an air crash, a severed belay line, the frigid cold of both poles and the intense heat of a few deserts. But, I would trade it for nothing. And I'd do it all over again without variation. It galvanized the person I became. And I am happy in that alone. I really look forward to Chating to each of you, really. Po Bear ... what ever happened to you. I was working on a project for Ford Aero Space and had to cut our comms short and never could get back in touch. So if you see this, it is time to catch up. Date Line: Detroit. 3/12/2010 Well it's time to give everyone an update. Since I last posted, things were going well with university and work till I passed out one for no apparent reason. After several months of testing, I was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma, ironically while studying pathophysiology, in August of 2009. Since then I've had three procedures, and now undergo chemotherapy. Weird thing about this whole experience is that as I lose hair on my head, I'm growing a beard. Fancy that! Because of my treatment schedule, I had to decline acceptance of being selected as an International Scholar Laurette on a medical delegation to the western provinces of the Peoples Republic of China this summer, however once these treatments are done I'm sure there will be new opportunities that will coincide with my research. I hope each an everyone is having a great day, and all of your families are well. ~Gila~ Until then, Peace and Walk in beauty.
